Régence’s position is simple: we are not interested in your chess data, and we never see it.

In the app

Analysis runs entirely on your Mac. Your games, analyses, studies and statistics are stored locally and are never sent to our servers.
No account required. No advertising trackers, no behavioral telemetry.
Lichess / chess.com import queries those platforms’ public APIs, one way only (downloading your own games).
License and trial checks talk to our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) and our license server: only an anonymous machine identifier and your license key are transmitted — never your games.
Updates use Sparkle and query regence.app for the latest version.

Audience measurement by Umami, self-hosted by us: no cookies, no individual identifiers, aggregated data only (page views, referrers). Nothing is shared with third parties.
Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy (email address and payment data) under their privacy policy.
