Open
your Lichess and chess.com games right inside the app.
Study
your repertoire until it holds under pressure.

your tactics on your own mistakes.
Measure
what costs you points, game after game.

repertoire, exercises and games to your students, in one file.
Analyse every game. No limit.
The world champions’ engine replays your game on your Mac. The game review you know — without the cap.
- Read the verdict: eleven categories, from Brilliant to Blunder.
- Find the swing on the graph, and see the right line on the board.
- Compare with masters, Lichess players, and your own games.
- Spot where you crack: a blunder in two seconds is not a blunder after three minutes.
- Annotate: your verdict replaces the engine’s.
- Export as PDF or standard PGN, analysis included.
Open your online games. Learn right there.
Browse your Lichess and chess.com archives from inside the app, month by month. One click opens the analysed game. A hundred games? Batch analysis works while you do something else.
- Look up any username — yours, or your next opponent’s.
- File folders, tags, saved views, a preview of every game.
- Turn a tricky position into an exercise, an opening into a session.
- Find a position across all your games and studies, transpositions included.
Study your repertoire until it holds.
Knowing your opening isn’t enough — you have to play it under pressure. Régence plays the other side, you play your lines, and what fails comes back.
- Import a Lichess study or a PGN, or build your own.
- Evaluate every branch, from your colour’s point of view.
- Choose: recite the theory, or learn to punish the opponent’s mistakes.
- Repeat at spaced intervals: what you know is no longer asked.
- Check with the engine at the end of the line — never during, it won’t give it away.
- Review a whole folder in one session, White and Black.
A training session — the app plays the other side, you play your repertoire
And on a real game, the Preview projects as ghost pieces what your repertoire had planned.
Train on your own mistakes.
Régence ships with no exercises: the positions that make you improve are your own.
- Capture the position that trapped you, in one gesture, during the analysis.
- Import a tactics file: every game becomes an exercise.
- Let the engine solve the exercises that have no solution.
- Review in sessions of ten, at spaced intervals.
Measure what costs you points.
A hundred analysed games are a diagnosis: the opening that costs you most, the ones forced on you, your results by opponent, your rating curve.
Hand over your work.
Coaching a player or a team? A round’s PGN analyses in batch, every game comes out as a PDF from its player’s side. And a pack gathers repertoire, exercises and games in one file the student installs with a double-click.
Keep everything. Forever.
Régence runs entirely on your Mac. No server, no queue, no counter.
Unlimited
3 games or 300. Nothing expires.
Private
Nothing leaves your Mac. No account.
Offline
On the train, at a tournament, on holiday.
Silent
Analyses without spinning up the fans.
The engine runs on your machine — your games are never sent to a server.
Native on Apple Silicon. Paid once. Yours.
Play on a fine object.
Photographic marquetry. More than twenty-five piece styles. Dark mode, light mode, sounds that feel right.

Gift Régence →The honest arithmetic.
- What Lichess and chess.com do better
- Free, online, and you already play there. To review a game now and then, that is plenty.
- What they do not do
- Analyse without a counter, gather both your accounts, draw a diagnosis from a hundred games, repeat your repertoire, turn your mistakes into exercises — on your own disk.
- What it costs
- Unlimited Game Review on chess.com: the Diamond subscription, about €110 a year. Three years: €330. Régence: €49 at launch, once.
Honest questions, honest answers.
Will this actually make me a better player?
No software improves on your behalf. Régence tells you what to work on — the opening that costs you most, the mistakes that keep coming back — then makes you work on it, until it holds.
Lichess and chess.com already analyse my games. Why pay?
They analyse one game at a time, with a counter. Régence analyses all of them, looks at them together, and trains you on them. If you analyse three games a year, their free tool is plenty. If you play three a day, the quota becomes the subject.
What level is it for?
Online and club players, roughly 800 to 2200 Elo. Every move gets a plain word — Book, Mistake, Blunder — instead of a column of numbers. Above that, the appeal becomes the repertoire, the library and the packs for your students.
What about Windows, iPad, or the browser?
No: macOS 14 or later, on Apple Silicon Macs. That is what lets the engine run at full speed at home, with no server.
Are my games private?
Yes: the engine runs on your Mac, with no account and no server. The only network requests: reading your games on Lichess and chess.com, theory, license and updates. And everything exports as standard PGN — nothing is locked in.
Is there a hidden subscription? Are updates paid?
No, and no. €49 once, updates included, no “pro” tier. The license covers 2 Macs.
What if it isn’t for me?
Try it for 7 days, no card, no account. After purchase, a 30-day guarantee: one email, full refund, no questions asked.
