Installation and trial
Installing the app
Régence downloads directly from regence.app — a classic DMG file. Once downloaded, open the file and drag Régence into the Applications folder.
The app requires an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 chip or later) running macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later. Updates are automatic: when a new version ships, Régence offers it at launch — one click, nothing to re-download.
The free trial
On first launch, Régence starts a 7-day free trial — no account, no credit card, no form. Every feature is open, with a single limit: 10 full game analyses per day. The day’s counter is visible in the trial banner at the top of the main window.
The counter is kept on our servers — not in the Mac’s preferences. In practice: it doesn’t get wiped and doesn’t reset by moving the clock forward, but it follows you from one device to the next. Without a connection the trial still works: 5 analyses are granted offline, and the count reconciles when the network comes back.
When the 7 days end, a screen says so — and nothing disappears: games, analyses, studies and folders stay on the Mac. The app simply waits for a license to resume analyses.
Activating a license
The license is a one-time purchase on regence.app — no subscription. The key arrives by email right after purchase.
To activate it: click Activate in the trial banner (or on the end-of-trial screen), then paste the key in the Activate Régence window. It takes effect immediately, and the daily limit disappears.
One license covers 2 Macs — say, the desktop and the laptop. To move to a new machine, deactivate the license on the old one from the license window, then activate it on the new one.
